Well, there is not a ton of difference between them on the issues*, but the fact that, as Jon Stewart has called him, The Goy from Illinois has a whole section on his website dedicated to his policy on technology that is right on, Old Town Computers is proud to support Barack Obama in the Oregon Democratic Primary. Go give him some money.

*They both get Net Neutrality right.

Hooray for Movie Night

Sunday 06 April 2008 at 5:27 pm

Much thanks for all those who came out for the First Friday Geek Movie Night Series and saw the Road Warrior this past Friday. When Wez and the Feral Kid were screaming at each other on the hood of the 18-Wheeler, and 60+ people all screamed in unison right along with them, I got a little misty.

So the winning trivia teams this month with a rather impressive show of Post-Apoc knowledge were:

#1 - The Assless Chaps with 19 out of 21 correct answers
#2 - The New Feral Kids on the Block with 18 out of 21 correct answers
#3 - The Wildcats with 17 out of 21 correct answers

Next month the questions are gonna be harder. Gonna make you sweat. Baby. Let the rhythm take control.
We have not yet decided on the next movie, but Wrath of Khan is making a strong showing in the public opinion polls.

It's pretty hard to decided who wins at April Fools; Blizzard/Vivendi Entertainment, or The Google.

An overclocker is you!

Sunday 30 March 2008 at 09:21 am

So after many weeks of looking at the "out of stock" status on our vendor sites, it looks like Intel has ramped up production and gotten some Wolfdale and Nehalem back into distribution (no, not the beach vacation). Many of those krazy kids on overclocking forums (you know, the kind that sound like some kind of meth theme park i.e. tweakersparadise.com) are reporting that e8400s can be bumped up to 4.0 Ghz with minimal core voltage increases and using STOCK CPU FANS. Oh Intel, baby, you know I didn't mean what I said about hyperthreading....
